한동대학교 전산 보안 동아리 GHOST가 지난 7월 26일 개최된 ‘World Wide CTF 2025’에서 전 세계 1,500여 개 팀 중 20위를 기록하며 상위 약 1.3%의 성적을 달성했다.
World Wide CTF는 전 세계 3,000명 이상이 참여한 국제 규모의 정보보안 경진대회로, 다양한 유형의 사이버 보안 문제를 제한 시간 내에 해결하는 방식으로 진행된다.
GHOST는 학기 중에도 꾸준한 실력 향상과 훈련을 이어온 결과, 이번 대회에서 뛰어난 성과를 거두었다. 특히 문제 해결 능력과 팀워크 측면에서 높은 평가를 받으며, 한동대학교의 정보보안 역량을 대외적으로 알리는 계기가 되었다.
해당 팀은 앞으로도 국내외 다양한 해킹 및 보안 관련 대회에 지속적으로 참가해, 실전 경험을 쌓고 보안 전문성을 강화해 나갈 계획이다.

HGU’s computer security club, GHOST, achieved an impressive 20th place out of over 1,500 teams worldwide in the World Wide CTF 2025, held on July 26. This result places them in the top approximately 1.3% of all participating teams.
World Wide CTF is a global cybersecurity competition that drew participation from more than 3,000 individuals. The event challenges teams to solve a variety of cybersecurity problems within a limited time, testing their technical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
GHOST's outstanding performance is the result of consistent training and skill development throughout the academic semester. The team was particularly recognized for its problem-solving ability and teamwork, serving as a testament to the strength of Handong Global University’s cybersecurity education.
Moving forward, the team plans to continue participating in both domestic and international hacking and cybersecurity competitions to gain practical experience and further enhance their expertise in the field.
